Hike

Zermatt is a Mecca for hiking fans: surrounded by 38 four-thousand-metre peaks and a network of more than 400km of hiking trails, it is definitely worth exploring the still valleys, old hamlets and rare wild animals. However, this famous mountaineering village also scores points with its crystal-clear mountain lakes reflecting the face of the Matterhorn or with its isolated Alpine flowers transforming meadows into multifaceted carpets of colour. In addition, it is the perfect starting point for active and healthy hikes during the winter months.

Ski

At up to 3,883 metres above sea level, Zermatt offers everything that winter sport lovers could want, from the Wolli park for beginners to steep runs to pristine slopes.     • Golf / course in Täsch/Randa for adults & children
    • Visit to the Air Zermatt heliport, followed by a short high-altitude hike behind the railway station back to the town center.
    • Gorner Gorge and Ricola Garden (near Blatten Restaurant) – children 5 years and older.
    • Geissengädi Zen route! They are the shooting stars of the Zermatt summer – the black-necked goats. A herd of around 50 goats runs through the village during the Geissenkehr for six weeks in summer.
